rie based parent/child classes
moving beyond assumptions
infant & toddler meal trays
Providing a family-friendly mix of discussion and time for observing your unique baby interacting and socializing with other babies!
Who: These classes are open to parents/caregivers and their young children, from newborn to 24 months. Children are grouped according to children’s stages and ages.
What: Based on the RIE *(Resources for Infant Educarers, www.rie.org) format for Parent-Infant Classes, each weekly class is a time for children to learn to socialize with others in a safe, yet challenging environment. The trained facilitator handles disputes or challenges as they arise, while parents are free to relax, observe the children interacting, and explore parenting issues during the discussion period.
These classes are unlike any others available, in that we fully allow the children to take the lead during play. This encourages them to become independent explorers and learners, qualities that last a lifetime. The facilitator models gentle yet firm guidance, which is especially helpful for parents of toddlers. Lasting friendships are formed as parents and children meet regularly, growing together.
When: Weekly for an eight week session.
Where: Baby Bungalow in South Tampa. Private classes can also be scheduled in your home.
Why: Early efforts can do much in the way of fostering secure attachment, self-confidence, and independent play for children. Since 1978, RIE’s research-based focus on the way in which we care for even the youngest baby enriches the parenting experience and paves the way to life long communication and cooperation.
