Also, the bridge that we use in toddler class can be used for years. Art materials that are age appropriate. Sand and water play is the precursor to art projects, so small sand boxes and watering cans or tubs are nice. For toddlers in the collection phase, you can get the preschool size containers of little figures, pop beads, etc. also at www.kaplanco.com.

A note from Stephanie, mother of three year old twins: Here are some of Chloe and Cohen's favorites over the past year or so: wood blocks, wood stacking cups, wood reversible hammer/peg bench, jack-in-the box, doll strollers, balls(of all sizes, materials, etc.), silk scarves, beans and scoops & cups in the kitchen, tunnel and wooden train track with wooden magnetic trains. Oh, and the tea set. And of course paint and colored pencils, play doh and the sandbox (especially when the sand is wet-it makes better tracks and cakes!)
